With fighting hunger being a key priority for the European Union, and the G8 hosted by the UK this year, this event will debate the principles of food sovereignty and food security and examine some of the policies that the EU, UK and Scotland need in order to tackle the root causes of hunger. Speakers will include Deborah Doane, director of the World Development Movement, Pete Ritchie, director of Nourish Scotland, Alyn Smith MEP, David Martin MEP and Gearge Lyon MEP. Thursday, June 13, 2013 Film Showcase of the finalists of Our Europe Competition
SEET has partnered with Edinburgh Filmhouse for a showcase of short films created by high school pupils in Scotland for "Our Europe Competition", funded by the European Parliament and supported by Radio Lingua.The screening will showcase the six semi-finalist European short films. Guests are asked to arrive from 4.30 PM for refreshments with a 5.30 PM showcase.
