HRH The Prince of Wales will speak at the European Parliament on Climate Change Thursday 14 February
The Prince of Wales is to visit Brussels to help raise the profile of climate change in the European Union. He will speak on the subject to an invited audience of MEPs and others at the European Parliament on Thursday morning. The meeting will be shown live on Europe by Satellite and also streamed on the European Parliament website. The Prince will also have a bilateral meeting with EP President Hans-Gert Pöttering
Pakistan elections
London Labour MEP Robert Evans will be leading the European Parliament's election observation team in Pakistan on 15-20 February. Baroness Nicholson MEP (Lib Dem, South East) is also a member of the delegation.
MP and Peers attend European Parliament meeting
On 11 and 12 February 2008, MEPs will meet with representatives of the 27 National Parliaments to discuss the Lisbon Strategy. They will focus on: R & D; globalisation and labour markets. Michael Connarty MP, Chair of the Commons EU Scrutiny Committee will attend, along with Lords Grenfell and Wright from the House of Lords EU Scrutiny Committee.
