EUROPEAN DAY AGAINST TERRORISM - commemoration & remembrance - 11 March

2005 saw the first European day for the victims of terrorism. It is a day of remembrance, an occasion to express solidarity with the victims of all terrorist attacks: those who lost their lives or still bear the mental and physical scars of such violence, and with their families. This European day is also an opportunity for society and institutions in Europe to reflect on how the terrorist threat can be addressed and prevented, and how the security of all citizens can be better protected.

In March 2006, 25 students from the South Camden Community School travelled to Brussels to take part in the commemoration. You can read their report here:
