Pamela Powers was born and brought up in Manchester. She has worked for the European Parliament for 25 years, four of which she spent in Luxembourg.
Since discovering the West Country in 1994, she and her husband have made their home in West Devon. Many years in London (where she still works for the Parliament part-time) have made her value the rural life and she is committed to the natural beauty of the region and its welfare.
