Gergana was born in Burgas, a lovely port city on the Black Sea in Bulgaria.
She completed High School in Burgas with a speciality in Italian language and literature and in 1998 took the opportunity to work in an Italian Show Room at Burgas Airport. After a year she decided to join her sister who was already living and studying in Sofia. There she studied for a year at the University of Sofia and worked as an interpreter in an Italian-Bulgarian textile company.
Gergana had a dream to go one day to study at an Italian University. After lengthy bureaucratic procedures she succeeded in enrolling in the Media and Journalism BA course at the University of Florence. It proved an unforgettable four years experience.
Gergana lived in a University Residence where she met many international students who remain her firm friends. As part of her course Gergana spent five months in Manchester, as an Erasmus student -her first introduction to the UK.
In July 2007 she completed her MA in European studies, as a Project adviser and European consultant at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, in Belgium.
This experience in Brussels brought her to the UK Office of the European Parliament, where she is working on a 5 months Traineeship programme in the Outreach section.
