NUS Scotland
Main purpose and remit:
NUS Scotland was formed in 1971, when students’ associations in Scotland left the Scottish Union of Students, to join NUSUK. It is an autonomous part of NUS UK.
NUS Scotland is a confederation of 56 colleges and universities, representing over 530 000 students throughout Scotland.
NUS Scotland's work is focused on further and higher education, and the interests of students and their educational environment. Its mission is to promote, extend and defend the rights of students as well as develop and champion strong students’ associations. All their work is about making student lives in Scotland better.
NUS Scotland provides a national platform for representation and campaigning, and works with scores of organisations on a Scottish, UK and international level.
As part of NUS UK, NUS Scotland is a member of the European Students Union (ESU). NUS Scotland’s European goals are to engage Scotland’s students in the Bologna Process and give them a voice at European level.
