The Week Ahead, 14-18 April 2008

 

Highlights of the week ahead in committees:

  • Prime Minister of Iraq H.E. Nouri al-Maliki meets Foreign Affairs Cttee (Weds);
  • Dr Sardar Ali of Warwick Uni gives evidence to hearing on Muslim women - Women's Rights Cttee (Thurs);
  • Brazilian beef - update from the European Commission (Agriculture Cttee);
  • EU Ombudsman presents his annual report in the European Parliament (Tues);
  • Workshop on Economic Partnership Agreements (International Trade Cttee - no programme available yet) (Thurs).

 

MEPs also meet in their political groups to prepare voting positions ahead of the next plenary session in Strasbourg from 21-24 April, where highlights of the agenda will include:
  • EU budget 2006 - clearing the accounts;
  • Organ donations - report;
  • Road transport operators - new EU rules.
