The Week Ahead in the European Parliament
5-9 December 2005
MEPs will meet in their political groups in Brussels next week to prepare amendments and coordinate voting positions in preparation for the plenary session in Strasbourg, from 12-15 December 2005.
Highlights will include:-
- Disabled access to aircraft (1st reading)
- Data retention (1st reading)
- HGV road charging (2nd reading)
- EU Budget 2006
- Fisheries policy
- Preparing the EU summit 15-16 December
- Sakharov Prize awards

Elections observers
A delegation of 7 MEPs led by Struan Stevenson MEP (Cons, Scotland) will be in Kazakhstan on 4 December to observe the parliamentary elections. Another delegation observes legislative elections in Venezuela from 2-7 December.
