New UK MEPs

The President of the European Parliament announced on 25 May the names of the two new MEPs, replacing Chris Huhne and Theresa Villiers, who won seats at Westminster in the recent General Election. The new Members are:

 

General Elections in Lebanon

Following an agreement with the Government of the Republic of Lebanon, the EU this week will send an Election Observation Mission (EOM) for the Parliamentary elections in Lebanon, scheduled to be held on four days: 29 May, 5, 12, 19 June. The Mission includes four MEPs: Mr Carlos Carnero González MEP (Chairman), Ms Béatrice Patrie MEP, Ms Rodi Kratsa-Tsagaropoulou MEP, and Ms Anna Fotyga MEP.

 

The Week Ahead 30 May - 3 June 2005

MEPs will meet in their political groups in Brussels next week to prepare amendments and coordinate voting positions in preparation for the plenary session in Strasbourg, from 6-9 June 2005.
