  MEPs vote for new EU Bathing Water Directive


This directive (2006/7/EC) has now been approved and was published in the Official Journal on 4 March 2006.

Implementation in the UK will be overseen by DEFRA.

DEFRA is holding a consultation on the implementation of the Directive in the UK.  Deadline for submitting responses is 4 February 2008.
