EU
- Europarl is the European Parliament's central website. It has an extensive, constantly updated multilingual database on all members, parliamentary committees and delegations, and activities of the Institution.
- The other main EU resource on the web is the European Commission's site on Europa. It contains a wealth of documents, from a policy guide to a repertory of EU legislation, and access to the Commission's various press releases. The Commission's Representation in the United Kingdom has its own website.
- France holds the presidency of the European Union from July 1st until December 31st, 2008.
- European case-law is also accessible on-line via the site of the European Court of Justice.
- European statistics can be accessed via two different websites:
- EU Statistics UK, the official European Statistical Data Service for the UK, managed by the Office for National Statistics - click here
- Eurostat, the Statistical Office of the European Union - click here
- There are many other EU institutions and agencies. Check their websites via the updated complete list on Europarl.
- Amongst the EU's specialist committees, CEN, the European Committee for Standardization, is contributing to the objectives of the European Union with voluntary technical standards which promote free trade, the safety of workers and consumers, interoperability of networks, environmental protection, exploitation of research and development programmes, and public procurement.- click here
