Educational Visits to Europe House in London
Free educational sessions at Europe House. Specially designed to be interactive, politically neutral and suitable for for 11-18 year olds at schools and colleges, including those studying for GCSE, A-Level and BTEC qualifications. They are completely free of charge. You can also request a session to be held at your school or college.
Each session includes several engaging activities. These culminate in a debate where students put forward legislation proposals on issues which are most important for them.
Whether you're teaching about Europe in Geography, History, Citizenship or Politics, a visit to the European Parliament information office in the UK will help support your work and enhance your students' learning. We will work with you to ensure that your visit is really valuable.
Your MEPs will be informed of your visit and encouraged to engage with your students. Let us know if there's a particular issue you would like to speak to them about.
Sessions are facilitated by trained staff from Involver, a social enterprise that helps young people to have a say in the places they go and the services they use.
Practical information for teachers
What does a typical educational visit include?
A free 2-hour, politically-neutral educational session to teach about the work of the European Parliament and the wider European Union. There will be individual activities, whole group activities and small group tasks, using a broad range of teaching techniques to engage all learners.
Which subjects do you cover?
Sessions are suitable for your classes in Geography, Citizenship, History, Politics, BTEC or MFL at stage 3 or above.
What does it cost?
There is no charge.
When can we visit?
Education sessions are available on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 11.00 - 13.00. Other times may be available subject to negotiation. Please note that we require at least six weeks' notice.
What size groups do we cater for?
Our facilitators are happy to take groups of up to 40 at a time as long as teachers accompany the group in the appropriate ratio. If you have a whole year group we ask that you book several sessions to enable us to work effectively with your students.

What if my group cannot come to Europe House in London?
Well, in that case, the educational session can come to you!
Our educational specialists can come to schools and colleges located in England outside London.
Just fill out the usual booking form and, under "Any special requirements?", specify the address of your school/college.
You will be contacted by our facilitators to arrange the practical details.
